Our treatment consists of the following:
A unique surgical method created by Dr Pelaez Molina after many years of study and surgery is the basis of the success.
This surgical method called revitalizing surgery (RVS) does a micro surgery on the eye where own grease tissue around the eye is implanted in the area above the choroids. This provokes an angiogenetic mechanism which improves the working of the visual cells, its neuroactivity. It favors the circulation in other layers of the retina and of the eye tissues through the choroids capillary.
In studies was obtained a significant difference between operated eyes and others, with a significant improvement of the visual fields of the operated eyes.
The operation modifies the disease to obtain a stable improvement in the group of the operated eyes in comparison with non-operated ones, based on the state of the visual field (VF) and on the sharpness of vision (SV) before and after the operation.
The ozone therapy is another treatment for our patient that takes advantage of the following qualities of ozone: germicide, hemorreological, immune-modulator and anti-oxidant. It is applied in small doses. The treatment is based on profound studies realized by the Centre of Ozone Investigations and other international institutions.
It is administered through injection in the veins or through rectal insertion. Only innocent materials are used with the strictest rules for asepsis according to international standards.
The electro-magnetic method is other treatment related to the 2 others, with proved efficiency in the medical practice in several specialties since many years. Together with this treatment medicine is administered that is used internationally for patients of Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Results:
The follow up of RP patients operated with the method of revitalizing surgery shows the following results over more then 10.000 cases attended:
*Stable (
progression of the disease is halted
) |
75% |
*
Improvement (widening of VF and SV)
|
16% |
*
Normal progress of the disease
|
9% |
The early diagnosis is essential to apply the right treatment with satisfactory results. The patients with the best chances are the ones that are in the initial phase of the disease. |
